The Inactive Clients search provides general fields for finding clients that are currently inactive. Users can narrow the search by client number, name, and other fields. Only contacts that meet the following criteria will be found by this search:
- Contact is assigned the Client contact type
- The Status field in the Client Information folder is set to “Inactive.”
The following table summarizes how the default criteria fields on the Inactive Clients search map to InterAction fields.
Out-of-the-box, this search does not appear in the top navigation; it appears in the “Other Searches” list.

The All Client Numbers additional field in the Client Information folder. Note that the All Client Numbers field should contain primary client number as well as any additional client numbers. |
| Person or Company | Indicates whether the contact is a person or company. |
| First Name | The first name for a person. Note that this search does not find people work at a client; it only finds actual clients. People who work at a client company should be classified as Client Personnel. You can use the People search to find such people (see People Search). |
| Last Name | The last name for a person. This searches the Last Name field in InterAction. Again, this finds clients who are people, not people who work at a client. |
| Company |
The company name field. InterAction searches for client companies that have the specified company name and client people who have the specified company name. Note, however, that this does not find non-client people who work at a client company. This field searches both the Company Name and Company Also Known As fields. |
| Status (hidden on form) | The Status additional field in the Client Information folder. This field is hidden on the search form and is set to Inactive. |
| Industry |
The Industry additional field in the Company\Person Information folder. By default, this field has the list items described in Industry Additional Field List Items. You can modify these items if needed and any changes will be reflected in the search form. To customize the list, add or edit the list items for the Industry additional field in the Company\Person Information folder. |
| City | The City address field. This finds clients that have a mailing address with the specified city. |
| State/Province | The State/Province address field. This finds clients that have a mailing address with the specified state or province. |
| Country | The Country address field. This finds clients that have a mailing address with the specified country. |
| Include Activities/Appointments in this search | Check box that displays activity criteria fields. This can be used to find clients based on activity criteria. |

The preview pane results display for this search form displays the out-of-the-box client profile.
