The Contact Types page displays all the configured contact types in your environment that the logged on user has access to read. For details about contact types, see Creating and Managing Contact Types.
The types are listed by contact type group.
What Can You Configure for the Contact Types Page?
You can configure the following for the contact types page:
- The set of contact types available. For details, see Creating and Editing Contact Types.
- The set of contact type groups used to organize the lists. For details, see Managing Contact Type Groups.
- The text used for the title of the page and the link to the page from the main menu. Out of the box, this is “Contact Types.” For details, see Change Terms Used for Contact Types, Working Lists, Marketing Lists.
- The search form used for a list when a user selects the Search This List link. You can essentially “tie” a contact type to a search form. For details, see Associating Web Client Profiles and Searches with Contact Types.
What Can You Configure for the "Show Contacts from this List" Page?
In addition to configuring the page that displays the list of contact types, you can also configure the page that displays the contacts on the list. You can “tie” a contact type to a profile. The summary version of the profile is then displayed in the preview pane for the list.
