Once a new employee is hired by your organization, you need to perform several tasks in order to make InterAction available and valuable to the new employee.
The new employee is represented as both a contact within InterAction as well as a user of InterAction. The tasks required to perform when the employee joins the organization affect both the user and the contact.
These tasks include adding the user to the appropriate groups, bringing in the user’s contacts, and adding the contact version of the user to the applicable mailing lists.
For detailed steps on adding a new user to InterAction, see the InterAction Recommendations for When an Employee Joins Your Organization best practices document on the Support Center Web site.
When a User Leaves Your Organization
Turnover within organizations is unavoidable. Employees come and go as part of an organization’s natural evolution. However, what is avoidable is the loss of key contacts and relationships an employee has fostered while working for your organization. Maintaining that intellectual property is vital to the continued success of your organization.
With this in mind, there are two areas that must be addressed:
- Relationship tasks - these are the processes for determining what and whom an employee knew, so you can preserve any relationships and maintain the continuity of your business. These tasks are more important than the administrative tasks.
- Administrative tasks - these are the normal cleanup processes of removing an employee as a user of InterAction.
For detailed steps on removing a user from InterAction, see the InterAction Recommendations for When an Employee Leaves Your Organization best practices document on the Support Center Web site.
