Data scrubbing or data cleansing typically refers to making mass corrections to the address data in your InterAction system. Some third-party organizations can perform these services on your data.
You can use the Factory Import in Application Collaboration to update the InterAction database with scrubbed data. This is used for updating addresses.
The basic process to scrub data is as follows:
- Use InterAction to export the data from a folder or search result to a comma separated file. You can use export instructions provided with InterAction:
- AC Person Address
- AC Company Address
- Correct the data as needed. If necessary, send the file to a third-party organization to be scrubbed.
- Use Application Collaboration’s Factory Import feature to update InterAction with the corrected data.
The Factory Import only updates addresses that have changed.
The Factory Import feature is only for cleaning up addresses. If you need to update additional fields or classifications, you can use InterAction to export the contacts, then create a data set that maps contacts based on InterAction contact ID’s.
