The folder dependency rules are applied to the firm contacts whenever the Folder Dependency Analyzer process is run. You can schedule the folder Dependency Analyzer to run on a regular basis using Process Manager.
Schedule a Process for the Folder Dependency Analyzer
Note that the Folder Dependency Analyzer relies on the Application Server. If Application Server is unavailable, the Folder Dependency Analyzer will not be able to run. Also, you need to configure InterAction Administrator to connect to your Application Server.
Most organizations find it effective to schedule the Folder Dependency Analyzer to run hourly. This ensures that any updates that would trigger a folder dependency rule are processed in a timely manner.
However, note that running this process hourly may not be feasible if your organization has a very large number of rules. In this case, you may need to reduce the number of times the process runs. At a minimum, you should still run it at least once a day, preferably multiple times a day.
- Log on to InterAction Administrator.
From the main entity list in InterAction Administrator, double-click Processes - Schedule and Results.
You can schedule processes from any workstation with InterAction Administrator and the requested automated server process installed.
On the Manage Process Schedule dialog box, choose New to open the New Scheduled Process dialog box.
- To set which workstation is used to run the process, choose Select, then enter the name of the computer or choose Browse to search the network for the computer. After selecting a workstation or server, choose OK.
- Select Folder Dependency Analyzer in the Processes drop-down list.
- If desired, change the Process Name.
- If you do not want the process to run yet, clear the Enabled check box. When a process is disabled, it is added to the schedule, but when Process Manager attempts to run it, it determines that the process is disabled and does not run it.
- Under Schedule, choose Edit.
- Select the frequency with which you wish to run the process and choose OK.
- Enter the Task User and Send a Message information.
- When finished, choose OK.

A more complete log file is saved in file called iafda.log. This file is stored in the workstation’s Data directory. The default location depends on your workstation operating system.
To find log files conveniently, on the Administrator Client, go to Help > About InterAction Administrator > View Data Files.
The iafda.log file lists contact IDs of the contacts that are added or removed from folders, and the folder IDs of the folders involved.
You can view this log file using any text editor.
