For best results, consider these recommendations when designing or customizing a data harvesting routine.
| Recommendation | Description |
|---|---|
| Testing | Thoroughly test your routines with a wide variety of data from the source system. Make sure it always brings the right data into the data set tables. Also review the data in a test environment in InterAction to confirm that the data looks correct once it is transformed into InterAction. |
| Repeatable process | When using Application Collaboration for ongoing integration, make sure your harvesting process is easily repeatable and can run unattended. This lets you use tools such as the Windows Schedule Service to schedule your harvesting routine according to a schedule as needed to maintain timeliness of the data, such as daily, weekly, monthly, etc. |
| Backups | Always schedule a backup of the InterAction database before running the harvesting routine. Backup the database again after successfully transforming the data. Be sure to also check your use of the transformation log before starting to use Application Collaboration. |
