You can create as many data sources as you need. Normally, you create a separate data source for each external system or data conversion.
You set the options for a data source in the New/Edit Data Source dialog box.
Options Available in a Company or Person Data Set
| Option Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Name |
The name is for your own reference. It displays in the main view. Use a name that makes sense to you. Since you may have multiple data sources, choose names that are easily identifiable. The example shown below has three data sources (Accounting System, HR System, and InterAction Conversion). |
| Description | The description is primarily used for your own reference. It describes the purpose of the data source. It also displays in the Application Collaboration main view. |
| Editor |
This is the InterAction user that displays as the creator and editor of any information imported by Application Collaboration. You can select any active or inactive InterAction Administrator User as the data source editor. However, to easily identify the data once it is in InterAction, create an inactive user specifically for this purpose. Using an inactive user also does not use an InterAction license. For details, see Setting the Data Source Editor. |

Deleting the data source does not delete any contact data within InterAction.

In the main view, select the data source, then choose Data Source > Delete.
Alternatively, you can right-click the data source and choose Delete.
- When prompted, confirm the delete by choosing OK.
