Each user of InterAction must have a user account defined. Beyond providing users with a way to access the system, user accounts are used for:
- Determining security for the system - you can define what information each user is allowed to access, features the user is allowed to use, and other permissions given to the user.
- Specifying user contact lists - each user account is given a user contact list in which the user can maintain his or her own contacts.
- Who Knows Whom - InterAction includes a special Knows relationship that is only available for users to use to indicate that they have a relationship with a contact.
- Organizing user into groups - groups can be defined to organize users who are in the same department or practice group or need access to the same information.
- Assistant/proxy - each user account can have one or more proxies defined. Proxies are users who are given permissions to manage another user’s contacts in InterAction.
The following table lists all the actions administrators can take to manage user accounts and user contact lists.
